You can start enjoying a unique original hand-painted portrayal by Janet M. Garcia that you will treasure forever. Janet will express her interpretation of your personality and character, or those of your loved ones, in a unique and creative way through her choice of brush strokes, colors, composition and texture. You can choose to commission your portrayal to be created with digital or traditional media.
Janet’s painted portrays are striking contemporary expressive portraits. She applies a variety of media, brushes and textures. These portraits are powerful, evocative works on canvas or fine art paper that evoke the soul of the subjects. Portrait commissions can be composed either using several photographs or from just one photograph. (It is better if your photographs were taken in natural light.) Your commissioned portrayal can be painted either with digital media or with traditional media like: acrylics, pastel, watercolor, colored pencil, and graphite pencils and charcoal. Prices depends on the type of media you choose and the size of the final work.
Janet works exclusively from photographs to create her portraits, although on occasions, she paints live. Source material may come from an old photo from family or friends, color or black and white photograph from your personal photo album, or if you live in the area of South Florida, Janet will personally photograph the subject(s), if you prefer. Please contact Janet if you need help selecting from your personal photograph(s) on which you wish her to base the artwork.
Paintings from photographs can easily be arranged. Please send us your photographs, either by digital images on CD, posted by e-mail, or as prints mailed using traditional post. Janet will then discuss with you about the photograph(s) of your choice. Photographs (unframed please and maximum size of 8×10) will be scanned for reference. All images will be returned to you. If an image is copyrighted, please submit signed permission from the photographer for use of their image. You are welcome to send additional photos to be used for reference information on the subject(s) and/or the environment.
Price will depend upon the media, size, number of subjects and the amount of detail involved.
Collages are portraits that incorporates a variety of photos/imagery and visual elements relating to the subject and what is important to them in their life.
Janet will blend together your significant photos/imagery with lively brush strokes to create an exceptional piece of art that will not only express the subject’s personality but will also tell a story of what is important in their life. Reaching into the soul of her subjects, Janet is inspired to use multiple images, significant words and meaningful moments – to weave together her interpretation of the subject(s).
